LET’S START WITH 24 FATHERS!
We are looking for 24 Fathers from our partnering Head Start programs!
Participants in the 24 Fathers initiative will learn several ways to contribute to the educational journey of their children while engaging and collaborating with a male support system. The 24 Fathers will also participate in events, create opportunities, network, and engage with community partners and local officials. All members of this group must be nominated by Head Start Family Services staff. The group will be led by ChampionQU and its community partners in collaboration with partnering Head Start programs. The anticipated soft launch is January 15th.
24 Fathers will be given a complete community-centered educational experience.
This educational experience includes:
Housing assistance
Asset building services
Mental health services
Substance abuse prevention/treatment
English as a second language
Assistance in enrolling into an education or job training program
Education on health and development consequences of tobacco product use
Education on postpartum care
Education on relationship/marriage
Assistance to families in incarcerated individuals
Emergency/crisis intervention
Research-based parent curriculum
Involvement in child’s screening, assessment, and progress
Supporting transitions between programs
Education on preventive medical and oral health
Education on nutrition.
