Executive Summary

Legacy Lab is a consulting initiative led by Christopher Teel, A.B.D., that equips family-serving organizations with strategies rooted in community engagement and human capital development. Designed to meet the real-world needs of children, families, and educators, this program introduces a flexible, multigenerational framework that enhances program outcomes while honoring the unique culture and context of each community.

With experience as a teacher, family services coordinator, nonprofit founder, civic leader, and educational strategist, Teel brings a rare and comprehensive perspective to the table. Combined with a robust network of community partners and a history of leading successful public events and educational campaigns in Southeast Queens, Legacy Lab offers more than professional development — it offers a relationship-based transformation grounded in values, voice, and vision.

This proposal outlines a series of service offerings, customizable modules, and delivery methods that can elevate the capacity, cohesion, and cultural fluency of family-serving organizations committed to sustainable impact.

Background & Rationale

Family-serving organizations today face mounting challenges — from engaging families across generations to building trust within culturally diverse communities. Many programs work tirelessly but still struggle to create lasting, responsive relationships that meet families where they are and grow with them over time.

Too often, the focus is limited to the educator-student dynamic — leaving out the broader network of influence that shapes development. When family-serving organizations and agencies overlook administrators, other staff, parents, and extended family members, they unintentionally leave children vulnerable to outside forces that may contradict the values and lessons emphasized during the day.

The Legacy Lab was created to address  this gap.

Rooted in years of frontline experience and community-based leadership, the Legacy Lab framework offers a holistic, culturally grounded approach to program design, professional development, and community engagement. It emphasizes five core levels of connection within every family-serving ecosystem: administration, staff, parents, students, and extended family/community. When these groups are aligned and supported, programs shift from isolated service providers to dynamic hubs of transformation.

With a background that includes teaching, family services, nonprofit leadership, and civic organizing, Teel brings a practical, grounded perspective to this work. The Legacy Lab framework does not aim to “fix” programs — it helps them evolve, using tools that are responsive, reflective, and rooted in real-world experience.

Consulting Services Offered

Legacy Lab offers consulting services that empower family-serving organizations to operate as full-circle ecosystems for growth, care, and transformation. Each offering is designed to engage one or more of the five key spheres of influence: administration, staff, parents, students, and extended family/community.

Rather than centering only on traditional roles or workflows, Legacy Lab helps family-serving organizations reimagine their impact — transforming routine interactions into moments of connection, cultural affirmation, and long-term growth.

Consulting services include:

  • Leadership & Administrative Strategy
Strategic planning, staff development alignment, and systems-building support to help leadership teams embed mission-driven, culturally responsive practices across operations.

  • Staff Development & Team Culture
Interactive workshops and training series that support reflective practice, strengthen inter-staff relationships, and promote cultural fluency.

  • Parent & Caregiver Engagement
Tools, events, and communication strategies that meet families where they are — fostering trust, participation, and shared responsibility in the learning journey.

  • Student Voice & Connection
Frameworks and practices that help children feel seen, heard, and respected — while reinforcing social-emotional learning and community pride.

  • Community Engagement & Family Integration
Design and facilitation of events or campaigns that position the organization

Unique Value

What sets Legacy Lab apart is not just its framework — it’s the lived experience behind it.

Teel brings a rare and valuable perspective as an educator who has worked across classrooms, family services, nonprofit leadership, and civic engagement. His ability to move fluently between school settings, board rooms, and community gatherings reflects the same flexibility and cultural fluency that Legacy Lab fosters in the organizations it serves.

Unlike many consulting programs built solely on theory, Legacy Lab is rooted in practice — designed by someone who has stood in the shoes of teachers, coordinators, and community leaders alike. It bridges the gap between academic knowledge and community wisdom, offering tools that are reflective, accessible, and relevant.

Additionally, Teel’s long-standing leadership in Southeast Queens and beyond is backed by a wide network of community partners. This ecosystem of support extends the value of Legacy Lab beyond workshops and into real relationships that open doors for long-term impact.

Legacy Lab isn't just a set of services — it’s a philosophy that believes strong communities begin with strong connections, and those connections must start within the organizations meant to serve them.

Partnerships & Community Roots

Legacy Lab is powered by real relationships — forged through years of organizing, creating, and serving across Southeast Queens and beyond. This work is not theoretical; it is grounded in the lived experiences of educators, families, youth, and community leaders who have collaborated with Teel through ChampionQU Inc. and its many initiatives.

Our partnerships span community-based organizations, event producers, local businesses, nonprofits, and family-serving agencies. While each collaboration looks different, they are all built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared belief in the transformative power of culturally rooted education.

To get a sense of the energy behind Legacy Lab, we invite you to explore our previous community initiatives, including:

  • #KickballQU – Southeast Queens’ flagship adult kickball game

  • #TRUNKORTREATQU – A family-centered Halloween celebration

  • #SUPPORTFEST – A community gathering and business mixer

  • QUEENS ACCENT | Where Business and Culture Speaks for Itself via Amazon

  • And more programming, videos, and interviews available via ChampionQU.com

These events, campaigns, and programs are not just projects — they are proof of concept. They reflect the same values and framework that the Legacy Lab brings into its consulting partnerships. Joining this work means stepping into something already in motion — and shaping its next chapter together.

Current Opportunity: Limited Enrollment Model (2025)

To support meaningful implementation and lasting relationships, Legacy Lab is offering a limited enrollment opportunity in 2025:

Programs that book a Professional Development Session or meeting for $1,500 by JULY 1st will receive:

  • One fully customized, high-energy staff development session

  • 3 months of Legacy Lab programming (3 modules) at no additional cost

  • Strategic planning and delivery support

  • Monthly implementation reports

  • Free marketing and up to $500/month in digital ad placement

  • Access to Legacy Lab’s community partner network and campaign ecosystem

  • Priority access to 2026 enrollment and discounted annual rates

This model ensures each site receives focused support while allowing Legacy Lab to build with intention.

Multi-Site Programs

We understand that some organizations operate across multiple locations. While a single professional development session may be booked for more than one site (e.g., Site 1 and Site 2), Legacy Lab module delivery is limited to one site per enrollment to ensure depth, continuity, and accountability.

Programs wishing to implement modules at additional sites will require separate registration per location. This structure ensures that each team receives consistent support, tailored strategy, and accurate reporting — all essential for lasting impact.

Additional Site Pricing

  • Add-on PD Session for Additional Site: $1,000

  • Additional 3-Month Module Delivery at Second Site: $1,500

We’re happy to work with multi-site programs to develop a coordinated plan that fits your structure and goals.

Note: Full-scale registration for Legacy Lab will reopen in February 2026. All programs that participate in 2025 will receive priority access and discounted annual rates for continued engagement.
